Views of Beach Goers on Beach Sanitation; and its influence

Quite a sizable number of the Ghanaian population live along the coast, the people from these regions mostly work as fishermen with the sea being a major source of sea food across the country and are also exported and processed to sardines, mackerels and other canned sea foods.

The coast also counters as a tourist attraction site serving as beaches where people from and outside these regions visit.
Ghana is blessed with numerous beaches as it borders with the Gulf of Guinea at its south along with other basin countries with Côte d'Ivoire to its left and Togo to the right.
The coastal region in Ghana span from the Volta region right through to the Western region.

Ghana's beaches are therefore found in these regions and are visited  by natives and settlers of these regions as well as visitors from other regions and foreign nationals.
Majority of these beaches however are nothing to write home about and have over the years become  a littering ground for many people especially dwellers in the vicinity they are located.
Ghana as a country has battled with sanitation issues for a while and our beaches are sadly not left behind in the struggle.
Beaches are potential income source for the economy if properly managed and maintained.

To know how best these places are managed and visitors' opinion on how these places are,  I sought for the views of some beach goers especially in Accra and comments I received were not wholly attractive some were downright heartbreaking but a bit of an online search and some comments received boosted my faith in what the future holds for Ghanaian beaches especially regarding its sanitation.
"I love the beach and get mad when I see people mess the place up,  especially Labadi beach where lots of foreigners visit." (Fauziya).
"I have only been to Labadi beach and I didn't like it." (Nana Ama).
“Beach sanitation is mainly poor in Ghana,  Labadi beach is only better than Borla beach,  Kokrobite beach: a lot had to be done, Bojo Beach Resort is the best." (Ezu).
Comments I received from the beach goers above implies that a lot has to be done about beach sanitation in Ghana especially in the Greater Accra region where many of these visitors tend to visit.
An online search on the best beaches in Ghana led me to a list of 25 best beaches in Africa and surprisingly a Ghanaian beach turned up at number 18.

The Beyin Beach came up at number 18 on CNN Travel's July 2017 best beaches in Africa post and was described as a classic African working beach.
The Keta beach on a YouTube post was shown as one of the best beaches in Ghana.
Grammy nominated artist Burna Boy in an interview with Tim West said he visits one of the beaches in Labadi when in Ghana to relax and get inspiration for new songs.
Beaches in Cape Coast are also said to be very clean.
Ghanaian beaches are not generally bad. There is more room for improvement especially regarding beaches in the Greater Accra region.
People travel across oceans just to have fun at beaches they deem to be the best.  The likes of Miami beach and beaches dotted in Ibiza can be said to profit a lot from visits and events held there annually and a special feature that can be noted about these places is the cleanliness of it.
Borla beach, Labadi beach  and  Kokrobite beach can match the likes of Beyin beach and even Miami beach and the ones in Ibiza

Sicily, Fiji, Maldives, Bahamas, Bali, Bora Bora and Santorini are all places that have gained recognition because of the beautiful beaches they have and all have spots in the best 15 beaches in the world.
Ghanaian beaches in the future can compete with all the places listed and even do better if good sanitation is learnt, practiced and maintained.
