BEACH SANITATION
Title: *Clean beaches vrs Dirty beaches*
*Synopsis*
Dirty beaches have slowed down the tourist attraction and tourism growth in our country Ghana. However, some clean beaches have also contributed to lifting up the image of the country. Below is a link making comparisons between clean and dirty beaches in Ghana.
ABSTRACT
The comparison of clean beaches and dirty beaches in Ghana is very important and essential to our human living because it will help us to be educated and stop the practices that lead to the tarnishing of the image of these beaches such as deficating, throwing of rubbish etc at the shores of our beaches. It will also enable and attract more tourists into the country to boost economic growth when our beaches are clean.
According to Google, by definition, beach is a pebbly or sandy shore especially by the sea between high and low water marks.
Sanitation on the other hand has to do with the cleanliness one has to attach to humanity to be able to ensure that life is well lived and clean with regards to immediate environment and it's surroundings.
As the saying goes, cleanliness is next to Godliness. It is very important for one to take good care of their environment and their surroundings.
Furthermore, sanitation are the conditions relating to public health especially the provision of good drinking water and adequate sewage disposal.
Beaches provide great comfort for stress relief and relaxation after a stressful day. Especially when the beach is clean, it promotes tourism as well and give the community a beautiful scenery. On the other hand, human activities in certain parts of the country destroy the beautiful site of some of these beaches such as throwing of rubbish (rubbers, empty, filled bottles) at the shores of these beaches which most often pollutes the water and give the beach a very bad look or image.
Let see some comparisons between some clean beaches and some dirty beaches on the shores and outskirts of some parts of Ghana.
We have the Aqua Safari beach, an exotic resort hotel that has been built close to the beach because of its clean nature, is an example of a clean beach. It is located in Ada foah and one of the favorites for tourists and business travellers looking for a luxury hotel resort by a clean beach environment to relax. It has an ultra modern state of the art facility, an outdoor pool and a spa centre. It is set in the Greater Accra region of Ghana.
We can also talk of another clean beach called the Ko - sa beach. We can also talk of the Korle Gono beach which is a clean beach but sometimes gets dirty because of human activities especially on holidays. But by nature and on a normal day, it is clean.
We can talk of the titanic beach which can be found on the stretch of the Tema - Accra Nungua beach road. This beach normally gets dirty because of human activities especially on holidays. Sellers and food vendors evade this beach heavily and litter the place badly on holidays.
I urge everyone to come together stop help put a stop to littering and dirtying our beaches.
Let's protect our beaches and environment so that it will boost our tourism and generate more revenue for the country and put the country on the global map positively when tourism is mentioned.

Other dirty beaches which give our beaches a bad image are James Town beach and borla beach. Borla beach is a name in our local dialect which means dirtiness that has been given to this beach because of its dirty nature.
I urge everyone to come together stop help put a stop to littering and dirtying our beaches.
